Spruce Tip Salts
Spruce Tip Salts
Harvested in the spring, spruce tips are the new growth on each spruce branch. We carefully harvest from our own spruce trees, making sure to leave plenty of new growth for years to come.
Each year we harvest loads of spruce tips from our organic acreage. We freeze some and dehydrate some. Pulverizing the dried tips and mixing them with sea salt. We then allow the spruce tips and sea salt to cure for 3-4 months before repackaging into 100 gram jars.
Spruce tips are high in vitamin C and chlorophyll. Spruce tips are also high in minerals such as magnesium and potassium. Pairing them with sea salt creates a wonderful electrolyte to add to drinks and food. They have a light lemony taste and pair great with foods such as popcorn, chicken, soups, stews, scrambled eggs…
